I'm going to rent a carpet cleaner this weekend. What do I use to get rid of pet odors?
I know they sell a bottle of something for pet stains and odors, I seem to recall that the guys who cleaned the carpets at my fathers would just add something to the water in the machines….and I want to say it was some common thing, like ammonia, or bleach or something…a very small amount…
Anyone have any ideas – or suggestions?
I cleaned the spot as best I could with paper towels and spray bottles of carpet stain remover….but it still smells yucky….

Baking Soda.
Sprinkle on your carpet, wait 5 minutes then vacuum. It absorbs odors.
Use an enzyme cleaner. Available at Pet stores. You "may" find one that is made for carpet cleaning machines.
